DESCRIPTION

Have you wondered why CSS161 is a degree requirement for mechanical engineering? Have you been told knowing how to code will enhance your career but don't know where to start? Have you ever wondered how a mechanical engineer who codes differes from a computer scientist who codes? Well if you have then you are like many of our club officers who have had these questions at some point.

We have the exciting opportunity to bring two industry engineers to UWB and put them on a panel with our own Prof Jong Yoon. Jorge Lozada is a mechanical engineer at PACCAR where they test Kenworth and Peterbuilt trucks. Chris Gross is a mechanical engineer at Terra Power where they are doing cutting edge work with nuclear power.

The panalists will start with the opportunity to give their background, and speak to their experience using computer coding in their careers. We will then open the room up for Q&A. In addition to a panelist, Prof Yoon will be able to answer questions as they apply to the mechanical engineering progam at UWB.

&This event is open to all students. The subject matter will be relevant to all engineering majors. ASME and SME will be working together to provide pizza and drinks to be enjoyed by all.
