James supports instrumentation across all divisions of the School of STEM at UW Bothell. He corroborates with several other lab coordinators in the teaching and research mission of the school of STEM.

Background

Education:
In 2017 James graduated Western Washington University with a B.S. in Chemistry. Prior to UWB, he worked at an environmental laboratory for five years working as an organic analyst moving all the way up to organics supervisor.

In November 2022 James joined UW Bothell school of STEM as the lab instrumentation coordinator. He grew up in Marysville, WA with his parents, younger brother, and older sister. He was a member of boy scouts, 4H, tennis, basketball, and volleyball. Today, he enjoys hiking, sailing, surfing, and snowboarding.

Job responsibilities

  • Prepare, run, maintain and troubleshoot instruments within the school of STEM. 
  • Train and assist students and faculty with operating instruments. 
  • Act as coordinator of chemistry instrumentation, manages equipment, chemicals, and use of space.
