Event/Presentation: Affiliate Professor Tyler Folsom remotely presented “Convolutional Neural Networks with Fixed Weights" at the 16th International Conference on Computer Vision, Theory and Applications, Feb 8, 2021, Vienna, Austria. In the position paper he suggests that prefiltering images with convolutions used in the mammalian brain can reduce deep learning computations by an order of magnitude. He chaired a session on video and image understanding.

They seek to build micro-mobility into Autonomous Vehicles, reducing energy use by an order of magnitude and keeping millions of tons of carbon out of the atmosphere.
