NSF grant to research Artificial Intelligence-Enhanced Cybersecurity

The intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity is emerging as an important field. With $300,000 National Science Foundation grant funding, Associate Professor Dr. Brent Lagesse in collaboration with Associate Professor Dr. Colleen Lewis from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will research industry needs, barriers to learning, and determine the best ways to prepare the workforce to apply AI to problems in cybersecurity.

Of the 20 scientists and engineers at the University of Washington elected to the Washington State Academy of Sciences for 2021, Professor of Environmental Chemistry and Chair of the Division of Physical Sciences Dr. Daniel Jaffe is elected from UW Bothell.
