Sunwoong “Sunny” Kim, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Kim received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University, South Korea. From 2016 to 2017, he worked at the Inter-University Semiconductor Research Center, Seoul National University, as a postdoctoral research associate. Prior to coming to University of Washington Bothell, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2017 to 2019.
Research
His research interests include custom hardware accelerators that are used in image/video compression, machine learning, and cryptography for fast and energy-efficient artificial intelligence systems.
