ARC Employment Opportunities

The ARC Mission is, to provide a place for the campus to connect through community and play. The ARC is home to three rec programs (Intramural Activities, Fitness, and Outdoor Wellness), and our Events and Facilities team. All of these programs are opportunities for student engagement and student employment for both Cascadia College and UW- Bothell Students.

ARC Facilities

ARC Building Managers

The ARC Building Manager is an integral member of the ARC Facilities Team, providing leadership, professionalism, and exceptional customer service in support of the mission and values of the ARC, UW-Bothell, and Cascadia College. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of ARC Facilities & Events, the Building Manager plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and welcoming operation of the Activities & Recreation Center.
Key responsibilities include supervising info desk attendants and fitness center attendants, supporting event set-ups, verifying reservations, and ensuring equipment and spaces are properly maintained and secured. Additionally, the ARC Building Manager is responsible for implementing emergency protocols and effectively managing incidents.

ARC Info Desk Attendant

The ARC Info Desk Attendant play an important role by providing support on the day-to-day operations of the Activities and Recreation Center which includes providing crucial way-finding services for ARC Facilities, UWB and Cascadia campuses, managing check out services and maintaining inventory, and helping to support with events and programs as needed.

ARC Fitness

Group Fitness Instructors are primarily responsible for conducting effective group fitness classes, educating patrons on basic fitness knowledge, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable workout environment for class participants. Formats: Dance, Cardio Kickboxing, Strength & Conditioning, Indoor Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, and more! This position is open to both UW-Bothell and Cascadia College Students.

Fitness Center Attendants are responsible for providing a clean, safe, and helpful workout environment for users in the Fitness Center. Attendants will assist in proper equipment usage and respond to any incidents or accidents. They also assist with participant check-in to the Fitness Center and check-out/return equipment at the Fitness Desk. Must be available to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends. This position is open to both UW-Bothell and Cascadia College Students.

Intramural Activities

Student Official: The Activities and Recreation Center’s Intramural Staff play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the ARC Intramural Activities Program. They are front line in making intramural programs fair, fun, and safe. Individuals participate in officiating a variety of sports, leading captain’s meetings, program promotions, and peer-to-peer evaluations. The main duty for Intramural Staff is to enforce all competitive sports policies, and sport specific rules. Officials will use their sport knowledge/rule understanding to enforce rules, encourage fair play and good sportspersonship, and ensure the safety of all participants.

Student Lead: The Student Lead is an elevated position that will be expected to effectively enforce program policies, assist in creating and following structured programming schedules, and accurately complete programmatic paperwork. Student Leads are responsible for maintaining a high level of communication, and professionalism to ensure that all program rules and policies are followed accordingly. Additionally, Student Leads will provide game day support and oversight for the officials. This could include officiating as needed, conflict management, and risk management. Administrative tasks both before, during, and after events are the responsibility of the Student Lead. The Student Lead is the highest level of leadership on the Intramural Activities team.

Student Program Coordinator: The Student Program Coordinator’s main role is increasing the visibility of our department across campus. This role will oversee the creation of marketing materials across multiple platforms and the promotion of programs and general communications with participants. The Student Program Coordinator will operate autonomously with the support of the Program Manager, as well as provide on-site program media support.

Outdoor Wellness

Outdoor Wellness Leader (OWL): Outdoor Wellness Leaders (OWLs) fill a vital leadership and community-building role on campus. Leaders develop, plan, and facilitate both on and off campus activities focused on outdoor recreation and holistic wellness of students for a variety of skill levels and abilities. In addition to leading programs, OWLs are responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the Nest Gear Shop and delivering exceptional customer service to students, staff and faculty members from UWB and Cascadia College. Leaders will receive significant training on wilderness skills, outdoor activity instruction, risk management, and environmental practices before at the start of employment and throughout the year. Additionally, all Outdoor Wellness Leaders will receive training for CPR/AED, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and Leave No Trace.

OW Student Coordinator: The Outdoor Wellness Coordinator is a pivotal role on the Outdoor Wellness team. The coordinator is tasked with the responsibility of organizing and executing marketing campaigns, initiatives, and activities to promote the Outdoor Wellness program in addition to assisting the Program Manager with certain administrative tasks. The Coordinator will work alongside Outdoor Wellness Leaders to gather marketing content and implement marketing initiatives using this content. They will also be responsible for conducting market research and analyzing current and past Outdoor Wellness marketing campaigns to assess effectiveness and improve the approach of the program. The Outdoor Wellness Coordinator will be required to be certified in CPR/AED/First Aid.
