UPDATE SEPT 23, 2:00 A.M: Campus has resumed normal operations effective Saturday, Nov. 23.
Power has been restored to campus and we are slowly resuming normal operations. Classes and services will still be conducted remotely throughout Friday, Nov. 22.
Please note:
- Faculty and staff can access office and lab spaces.
- UW1 and the Activities & Recreation Center are open for students. Residential students should refer to Residential Life.
- Essential staff will report to campus as usual.
- Surface lots and the North and South garages are open for parking.
- 110th Avenue NE is closed out of caution.
The UW Bothell/Cascadia College campus will resume normal operations on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Suspended operations all day 11/22. Classes and services conducted remotely.
The weather forecast now calls for more wind overnight. Although not predicted to be as severe as earlier this week, the winds could further compromise trees, branches and powerlines and could lead to more power outages.
In light of this, the UW Bothell/Cascadia College campus will be on suspended operations on Friday, Nov. 22. Campus will be closed. Classes and services will be conducted remotely. Events canceled.
Exceptions: Essential staff will report to campus as usual, and residential students should refer to Residential Life.
Faculty: Please keep your students apprised of course expectations, taking into consideration the magnitude of the widespread power outage.

Suspended operations all day 11/21. Classes and services conducted remotely.
According to Puget Sound Energy, power may be restored by mid-morning. Once it is restored, IT teams at UW Bothell and Cascadia College will need a minimum of several hours to reset and reestablish functionality.
In light of this, the UW Bothell/Cascadia College campus will be on suspended operations on Thursday, Nov. 21. Campus will be closed. Classes and services will be conducted remotely. Events canceled.
Exceptions: Essential staff will report to campus as usual, and residential students should refer to Residential Life.

Power out on campus
We have received calls from our campus community about coming to campus for electricity. Power is out at UW Bothell/Cascadia, so please do not come to campus.
At this time, Puget Sound Energy estimates power restoration within 18-24 hours from now.

In light of weather advisories for high winds this evening, the UW Bothell/Cascadia College campus will be on remote operations after 3 p.m. today. Campus will be closed; classes and services will be conducted remotely; events canceled.

Attempted robbery near Commons Hall
UPDATE 12:03 p.m.: Police unable to locate the suspect in the attempted robbery and have cleared the area.
UPDATE 11:10 a.m.: Suspect was reportedly last seen heading toward North Creek Wetland.
11:00 a.m.: Police are searching for a male in attempted robbery and attempted assault that occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. near Commons Hall (UW2). Description: Mustache, beard, black hoodie, black hat, green backpack. Call 911 if seen.

Great Washington ShakeOut Drill, 10/17 at 10:17 a.m.

Today is the Great Washington Shakeout earthquake drill. In the event of an earthquake, remember to DROP or LOCK (wheels), COVER AND HOLD ON. As part of the statewide drill, UW Bothell is conducting a test of all emergency communications tools. In the event of a real emergency, updates will be posted on uwb.edu/emergency or www.cascadia.edu/emergency.

Email delivery delay
UPDATE 4:23 p.m.: The technical issue that caused a delay in inbound and outbound email messages in the @UW.edu domain has been fixed, and UW-IT expects that email will return to normal delivery times by tomorrow morning. UW-IT is continuing to monitor system recovery, including a backlog of emails being processed.
UPDATE 10:42 a.m.: Inbound and outbound email messages in the @UW.edu domain remain significantly delayed. Consider using alternative methods of communication for time-sensitive issues until this incident is fully resolved.
No estimated restoration time is available. Users are reporting that they are receiving most emails from outside the UW.
Original message: The University of Washington email system is experiencing some delays in receiving and sending emails due to a technical issue. UW Information Technology engineers are actively working with the vendor, who is deploying a possible fix.
Between 8 p.m. on Monday and 2 a.m. today, some inbound emails to UW accounts may have been lost and are not recoverable. Outbound @uw.edu messages were not lost. UW IT does not have an estimated time for a resolution. UW IT does not have an estimated time for a resolution.
