ARC Fitness Mission
The ARC Fitness Center strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment so everyone on campus can achieve their fitness and wellness goals. All ARC Fitness Center staff provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff to gather and participate in a variety of programs and offerings regardless of skill level, gender and ability.
ARC Fitness Disclaimer
Your health and well-being are important to us at the Activities & Recreation Center within the UWB & CC community. The purpose of this disclaimer and notice is to make you conscious of the potential risks connected with activity in any exercise, physical fitness, or training program, to help you make an informed decision as to whether or not you should participate in these types of activities. The ARC recommends that you obtain a comprehensive physical examination and consult with a licensed physician before beginning this or any exercise program. When participating in this exercise program, there is the possibility of physical injury. If you engage in this program, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities, assume all risk of injury to yourself, and agree to release the instructor, the Activities & Recreation Center, University of Washington Bothell, and Cascadia College from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising from participation.
Accessibility Accommodations for Group Fitness
UW Bothell and Cascadia College are committed to providing equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation in their services, programs, activities, education, and employment for individuals with disabilities. To make a request connected to a disability or health condition to UW Bothell, students should contact ARC Fitness at 425.352.3580, arcfitness@uw.edu. Cascadia College students should contact Student Accessibility Services at 425.352.8128, accessibility@cascadia.edu. It is preferred that arrangements are made 10 days prior to the event.
Group Fitness Registration Process
ARC Fitness Center Membership & Benefits
All active UW Bothell and Cascadia College students automatically have a membership for the ARC and the Fitness Center as a part of ARC Fee paid with standard student tuition. All eligible staff and faculty from the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College can purchase an ARC Fitness Center membership by visiting myARC.uwb.edu.

- Access to Group Fitness classes
- Fitness Center
- Rental equipment for Fitness Center & the Sports & Recreation Complex (S&RC)
- Day-use lockers
- Towels
How to Register for a Group Fitness Class
Log into the myARC Member Portal using your NetID (for both University of Washington Bothell & Cascadia College students). Click on “Group Fitness” image. A page called “Programs” will appear with current class offerings. Click on the class you would like to register for, and the page will refresh to show the class format, time and offerings. Select the time and day you would like to register for and answer the prompts that follow.
How to check into a Group Fitness Class
After checking at the ARC Fitness Center Front Desk, participants can sign-in for classes outside of the ARC Fitness Studio up to 10 minutes prior to class starting. The door closes at the start of the class, but late individuals have a 5-minute grace period before they will not be allowed to participate. Those that arrive 5 minutes past the class start time cannot participate due to risk of injury.
How to cancel a reservation
You can cancel your registration up to 5 days prior to the class start time. Log into the myARC Member Portal using your NetID and click your profile name at the top right corner of the page. Under Profile, click “Program Registrations” and select the class you would like to cancel, then click confirm cancellation.
Group Fitness Instructor Responsibilities
ARC Group Fitness Instructors are student employees who have gone through a 5-week in-house group fitness and certification training program. All Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for leading and delivering group fitness instruction ranging in variety and level from aerobic activity, muscular strength, stretch, dance, or yoga.
Our weekly Group fitness classes include modifications for all levels and all abilities to ensure that everyone can take a step toward meeting their fitness goals. Our certified instructors are top-quality, providing a workout experience that is sure to captivate you!
Participant Responsibilities
By attending Group Fitness programs, you are representing UW Bothell and Cascadia College in your actions, your attitude, and participation.
- Treat other participants and Group Fitness Instructors with courtesy and respect before, during, and after classes.
- Abide by all ARC Fitness Center & Group Fitness program policies. Policy is required to provide a fair and safe program. Our conduct policies are aligned with university standards. For more information on our policies, please go to our Fitness Center Policies page.
- In the case of an emergency, please adhere to any direction given by Fitness Center Staff.
- Listen to your body! No matter what class you are taking, listen to what your body needs. Our Instructors will provide modifications for all levels and all abilities to ensure everyone can take a step forward meeting their fitness goals.
