Mandatory ISS Check-in

All new F-1 students must complete an online check-in with ISS. Check-in allows us to register your SEVIS record as an attending student. Failure to complete check-in will result in the termination of your SEVIS record. Check-in is not the same as the New Student Session.

How to complete check-in

  • After you have entered the US, complete the Check-in request in the International Student Portal.
    • You will need your most recent I-94 info page (downloaded as a PDF) to complete the check-in. Do not upload your travel history.
  • Do not forget to also go to myUW and update your local US address.
    • This is required to register your SEVIS record.
    • The address must be in Washington, not out of state.
    • Even if you are temporarily at a hotel AirBnB, or VRBO, you must provide an address. You can update it again at myUW after you move.
