Upcoming Events for Pre-Health Students

The following events are being hosted by UW Bothell or other health organizations for the benefit of all Pre-Health Students. UWB HOSTED events are opportunities that are open to all eligible persons regardless of race, sex or other identity.

Join UW School of Medicine vice dean for rural and regional affairs, Dr. LeeAnna Muzquiz, MD ’00, Res. ’03,  for an online information session about the UW School of Medicine’s M.D. admissions process. Dr. Muzquiz has served as associate dean for admissions at the University of Washington School of Medicine since 2018.

The webinar will be held on March 24, 2026, from 5 to 7pm (Pacific Time), and participants can submit questions in advance when they register.

What: Rehabilitation Professions Open House

When: April 7th, 4pm – 6pm

Where: Health Sciences Building, BB Tower, 8th and 9th floors

Calling all undergraduates interested in careers in healthcare! The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is hosting a drop-in open house where you can learn more about rehabilitation professions and our UW academic training programs. Speak to faculty and students in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Speech-Language Pathology, Physiatry (rehabilitation physicians), and more! Check out our classrooms and engage in demonstrations from each discipline. Come before 5pm to see the prosthetics lab in action!

Whether you have a career in a rehabilitation-related profession in your sights already or are still searching for the right pathway for you, this is a great opportunity to connect one-on-one with our programs and ask any questions you have on Rehab professions, courses, applying, and much more!

To access our floors, you’ll need to make it to the BB Elevators.

Non-UW students should enter through the NW Plaza on Medical Center Frontage Road, where student volunteers will let you in to the building.

UW students may also use their Husky Card to enter from the Pacific Street Bridge connecting Bloedel Hall parking lot to HSB.

The OHSU Physician Assistant Program is hosting a series of virtual information sessions for students who may be interested in becoming a PA.

During the information sessions, the admissions team will give an overview of our program, student services, admissions requirements, tuition and financial aid as well as the opportunity to connect with current students during the student panel portion of the meeting.

Our 2026 Information Session dates are listed below.  All sessions will begin at 5:30 PM and conclude at 7 PM PT.

Registration is open for the first annual TIDES Conference on April 23, 2026 at the UW South Campus Center!

TIDES is a dynamic gathering where fresh ideas propel the future of the Blue Economy. This event convenes brilliant minds from academia, industry, and research institutions to explore innovations shaping marine technology, ocean sustainability, and coastal economies. 

Students interested in ocean science and technology, ocean engineering, the blue economy, decarbonization, etc. this is the event for them! The day-long conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, a student poster presentation session, networking sessions with professionals, and more. TIDES bridges the gap by fostering cross-sector collaboration between students, researchers, employers, non-profits, and government, ensuring that research translates into real-world applications.

Registration is free and open to all students who wish to attend the event. If students would like to present a poster, the abstract submission deadline is March 13. Learn more on our event website here.

Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine has received a strong number of applications from University of Washington – Bothell students, and they have been very successful in our program. Because of this, we are especially interested in engaging more intentionally with your pre-med community and sharing more about Noorda-COM.

This session will include a 30-minute presentation covering our curriculum, student life, match outcomes, clinical rotations, and other highlights of Noorda-COM. This would be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with members of our student ambassador team, allowing students to hear directly from current Noorda-COM students.

For those PREPARING to apply to professional programs in health, whether it’s medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, or other professional preparation programs – let’s talk about how you will articulate your alignment and capacity for the field. The Health Professions & Natural Science Pathways Manager will share information about the elements of the application, the timeline for the process, and prepare you for the road ahead. PS – AMCAS opens tomorrow!

Join Connor McComas from Academic Advising & Kristen Labrecque from Career Services to level up your career readiness with examples from Psychology/Mental & Behavioral Health and the social sciences. We’ll talk about:

  • Finding local employment related to your major both during your time as an undergrad and after graduation.
  • Obtaining a Mentor – Appropriate searching steps and asks
  • Preparing for graduate school, including timing, work and volunteer opportunities, and creating an effective application

For those PREPARING to apply to majors, scholarships, graduate/professional programs – let’s talk about what’s needed for an effective personal statement. The Health Professions & Natural Science Pathways Manager will share tips for writing your statement and lead an interactive workshop where you will work together to start your statement and leave inspired to complete this essential piece of any application.
