Upcoming Events for Pre-Health Students

The following events are being hosted by UW Bothell or other health organizations for the benefit of all Pre-Health Students. UWB HOSTED events are opportunities that are open to all eligible persons regardless of race, sex or other identity.

Join us for Pay for Health Professions Graduate School: Loans, Strategies, and What You Should Know, a webinar designed to help future health professionals navigate upcoming changes to graduate education funding.

During this session, we will:

  • Break down new federal policies and what they mean for graduate school financing.
  • Explain how these changes may impact borrowing options for health professions students.
  • Share practical strategies and planning tips to help you prepare for the cost of your degree with confidence.

The OHSU Physician Assistant Program is hosting a series of virtual information sessions for students who may be interested in becoming a PA.

During the information sessions, the admissions team will give an overview of our program, student services, admissions requirements, tuition and financial aid as well as the opportunity to connect with current students during the student panel portion of the meeting.

Our 2026 Information Session dates are listed below.  All sessions will begin at 5:30 PM and conclude at 7 PM PT.

Husky Union Building | Saturday, April 11th, 2026, from 9am-5pm

This in-person conference is the largest pre-health conference at the University of Washington and is open to all individuals at a high school, community college, and/or undergraduate college level. Spots are limited, so sign up today!

Students will have the opportunity to…

  1. Network with healthcare professionals, advisors, and students across various career fields such as medicine, PA, dentistry, nursing, biomedical research and more!
  2. Connect with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) at UW, graduate school admissions, community organizations in healthcare, and volunteer opportunities at our Resource Fair.
  3. Attend workshops to broaden students’ perspectives on what “healthcare” means, and how to be well-rounded healthcare professionals. Examples include:
  4. Learning hands-on techniques with a suturing workshop, dental workshop, as well as learning how to take vital signs and read diagnostic images.
  5. Preparing for medical school by learning about the admissions process and the MCAT.
  6. Understanding the impacts Social Determinants of Health have on underrepresented communities.
  7. Learning about the differences between the many areas of healthcare in various healthcare professions panels!

Registration is open for the first annual TIDES Conference on April 23, 2026 at the UW South Campus Center!

TIDES is a dynamic gathering where fresh ideas propel the future of the Blue Economy. This event convenes brilliant minds from academia, industry, and research institutions to explore innovations shaping marine technology, ocean sustainability, and coastal economies. 

Students interested in ocean science and technology, ocean engineering, the blue economy, decarbonization, etc. this is the event for them! The day-long conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, a student poster presentation session, networking sessions with professionals, and more. TIDES bridges the gap by fostering cross-sector collaboration between students, researchers, employers, non-profits, and government, ensuring that research translates into real-world applications.

Registration is free and open to all students who wish to attend the event. If students would like to present a poster, the abstract submission deadline is March 13. Learn more on our event website here.

Join Dr. Shahnaz Ghassemi to learn more about Health Career Certs whose goal is to positively impact students, job seekers, and employers by offering comprehensive, interactive training programs.

Stop by between 10:00am-12:00pm to meet Aaren Hurd, Student Recruitment Manager at Morehouse School of Medicine. Aaren will be able to tell you more about MSM as well as the More in Common Alliance, so stop by the Career Center in UW1-103 to say hello and learn more about Morehouse!

Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine has received a strong number of applications from University of Washington – Bothell students, and they have been very successful in our program. Because of this, we are especially interested in engaging more intentionally with your pre-med community and sharing more about Noorda-COM.

This session will include a 30-minute presentation covering our curriculum, student life, match outcomes, clinical rotations, and other highlights of Noorda-COM. This would be followed by a 30-minute Q&A with members of our student ambassador team, allowing students to hear directly from current Noorda-COM students.

For those PREPARING to apply to professional programs in health, whether it’s medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, or other professional preparation programs – let’s talk about how you will articulate your alignment and capacity for the field. The Health Professions & Natural Science Pathways Manager will share information about the elements of the application, the timeline for the process, and prepare you for the road ahead. PS – AMCAS opens tomorrow!

Join Connor McComas from Academic Advising & Kristen Labrecque from Career Services to level up your career readiness with examples from Psychology/Mental & Behavioral Health and the social sciences. We’ll talk about:

  • Finding local employment related to your major both during your time as an undergrad and after graduation.
  • Obtaining a Mentor – Appropriate searching steps and asks
  • Preparing for graduate school, including timing, work and volunteer opportunities, and creating an effective application

For those PREPARING to apply to majors, scholarships, graduate/professional programs – let’s talk about what’s needed for an effective personal statement. The Health Professions & Natural Science Pathways Manager will share tips for writing your statement and lead an interactive workshop where you will work together to start your statement and leave inspired to complete this essential piece of any application.
