Student Leadership Positions
Peer Coach and Orientation Leader applications open November 24, 2025 and close January 12, 2026.
Become a Peer Coach or Orientation Leader with Orientation & Transition Programs!
We’re looking for enthusiastic, supportive students to join our team and help incoming students feel welcomed and confident as they begin their journey at UW Bothell.
The Application Process
Our application is designed to be simple and flexible. You’ll use the same form to apply for either position, or both! Just indicate your preferences when you apply.
After application review, selected candidates will be invited to participate in:
- Group Interviews in January.
- Individual Interviews in February.
Final offers are typically extended in late February or early March.
We encourage all students to apply, even if you’ve never held a leadership position before. We’re looking for potential, enthusiasm, and a desire to support new students.
Orientation Leader versus Peer Coach
Both positions support incoming students through the Orientation and Transition Programs Office.
- Orientation Leaders play a key role in welcoming new students and their families during Advising & Orientation. You’ll help create a positive first impression of UW Bothell by facilitating small groups, conducting campus tours, and interacting with both families and students. This role is ideal for students who enjoy public speaking, teamwork, and building community.
- Peer Coaches support new students beyond orientation by helping them adjust to college life during their first quarter. You’ll lead small group sessions at Advising & Orientation, meet one-on-one with students throughout fall quarter and help students set goals and connect with campus resources! This role is great for students who enjoy mentoring, listening, and helping others succeed.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for either position, applicants must:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student throughout their entire position.
- Maintain a cumulative and quarterly minimum GPA of 2.5
- Be in good academic and conduct standing with the University.
- Have or be able to obtain a Social Security Number.
- International students are welcome but must confirm their work eligibility with International Student Services.
*We hire students on Work Study!
