Residential Village

Enhancing the student housing experience

UW Bothell is partnering with Capstone Development Partners to redevelop and transform Husky Village into a mixed-use development, incorporating new, prime housing opportunities for approximately 1,000 students in the form of two residence hall buildings and one apartment building. The development project will also include a standalone dining pavilion building that will be open to all UW Bothell and Cascadia College students, staff, faculty and guests. It will be a community resource that we’ve longed for on the campus! The construction and development will improve public transit and cycling mobility which enable a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented environment along Beardslee Boulevard, through the Residential Village and into the campus core via the campus promenade.

Demolition of the existing residence halls is planned in stages and construction will begin in fall 2021. The first phase of construction will be complete by spring 2023, and the final phase will be complete by fall 2024. The good news with this phased approach is that it allows us to continue our residential life program by offering some student housing during the construction period.

Major milestones:

  • July 2021 – Complete Project Design
  • August 2021-August 2024 – Construction
  • Winter/Spring 2023 – Phase 1 Substantial Completion
  • Summer 2024 – Phase 2 Substantial Completion
  • September 2024 – Final Project Completion & Delivery
