Recap & September Highlights

ABC Nature Walk

We had such a blast with the ABC center! We did a nature walk around Saint Edward State Park as well as a variety of art in nature activities. These activities included leaf pressing, collaging, boat making, and more. Thank you to those who came!

End of Summer CoSEE Celebration

Thank you to all who came to our End of Summer Party! This celebration was full of highlighting the incredible work our Summer 2026 cohort has done this past summer as well as looking at CoSEE’s goals and achievements from the past year. It was a beautiful day filled with community and learning.

September Nature Walk

Our September—and final—Nature Walk was our biggest yet, with more than 20 attendees and even a Bark Ranger joining us. We took our longer loop down to Lake Washington, exploring how the forest functions as a collaborative community and learning about how Lake Washington’s shoreline has changed over time. Thank you to all who have joined us for this 2026 nature walk series. We look forward to starting up walks again in early spring!

Uncover who lives here by investigating the signs they leave long after they are gone.

Have you ever pondered a print in the mud? Have you heard the howls in response to the fire trucks? Have you noticed some “trimming” in your garden you don’t remember doing? You’re noticing the signs of the many species of wildlife that live alongside us!

Take a dive into the world of tracking with “Tracking Basics: Learning by Looking!” Uncover who lives here by investigating the signs they leave long after they are gone. We will learn how to identify who left prints, experiment with real models of our wildlife, make your own plaster print casts and go on a walk to use our new tracking skills!

We will meet at the EERC to learn and experiment, then go on a flat 1-2 mile walk through Saint Edward State Park mud pits for prints. Bring shoes and clothes that can handle a little mud and rain! This is a family-friendly event recommended for ages 12 and up.

RSVP for this free event to learn more about tracking and prints.
