Social Media and Communications Pathway
This pathway focuses on using digital media and storytelling to share CoSEE’s work with educators, researchers, and the broader community. Interns help manage social media channels, create engaging content, design outreach materials, and support newsletters to connect diverse audiences to environmental education.
Interns collaborate with CoSEE staff to develop a consistent, accessible, and compelling online presence across multiple platforms. The work emphasizes clear communication, creative design, and community connection, amplifying the impact of CoSEE’s programs and partnerships.
Projects may include:
- Manage and create content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
- Design flyers and promotional materials using Canva
- Tabling at events and sharing about CoSEE
- Support the writing and distribution of the CoSEE newsletter
- Assist with outreach strategy and audience engagement across platforms

Past project highlights
Furthering CoSEE’s mission through social media presence
Linh, a previous CoSEE intern, helped create all of CoSEE’s social media systems. She was the lead for the social media team and made sure that all content put out matched CoSEE’s mission and goals. She also worked on flyer creation that was used to promote events, positions available, or any other news that CoSEE wanted to share with the public. Linh also as the lead had work towards making efficient work flows so that content could get out smoothly and efficiently.
Helping to widen the reach of CoSEE’s social media presence
Benji, a previous CoSEE intern, helped support creating a lot of content for CoSEE. He created CoSEE’s TikTok account which helped CoSEE reach new audiences. As well as was CoSEE’s main photographer in helping take photos and videos at all their events. He also supported other student projects by taking photos for them to help further explain their project to the public.
