IAS faculty member micha cárdenas spoke on speculative computing and world-making at Hampshire College. Her talk was part of a year-long series focused on how the spread of immersive digital environments has made the virtual more "real," while also increasing surveillance and creating endless analytics that have optimized our world as computation. The series features scholars and artists whose work investigates the constantly shifting boundaries between physical and virtual space, and how such shifts impact how we engage our social, political, and bodily networks: how our worlds are made, and how we can make them differently.
