Social Justice & Civic Education

Social Justice & Civic Education (SJCE)

The Social Justice and Civic Education (SJCE) team, within Student Engagement & Activities (SEA), coordinates events and initiatives that promote critical dialogue, educate students on social justice issues, and provide civic engagement opportunities which see students working towards change in their greater community. This team of three student leaders and their supervisor work to build the campus community’s capacity to recognize, confront, and deconstruct systems of oppression and, using a Dialogue-to-Action model, promote community change.

Programs

Ongoing SJCE programs include the Dine N’ Dialogue discussion series, the Processing with the Pack podcast, film screenings, guest speakers, advocacy workshops, identity awareness programs, Alternative Spring Break, the Civic Engagement Fair, Martin Luther King Jr. Week, Get Out The Vote, and much more. We are also happy to collaborate to develop new programs across campus!
