UW Bothell Awards

Distinguished Research, Scholarship, & Creative Activities Award

Distinguished Research, Scholarship, & Creative Activities Award

The Distinguished Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Award (DRSCA) is intended to recognize the significant scholarly and creative accomplishments of UW Bothell faculty. The DRSCA is presented each year to a UW Bothell faculty member in recognition of scholarly or creative achievement exemplifying the standards of excellence required by the research-intensive education environment of the University of Washington Bothell. The DRSCA recipient will receive an honorarium, is recognized at spring commencement and is honored at the UW Bothell Faculty Recognition Reception. The recipient will be asked to provide a campus-wide presentation of their work as well as a presentation for first-year students.

Selection Process

The selection process will be facilitated by the VCAA office. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the VCAA that will include faculty members from each School or Program. The committee will communicate with the VCAA the names of the top nominees along with a recommendation for the award recipient. Finalists will receive a letter of recognition and be announced to the UWB community. The award recipient will be approved by the Chancellor and a public talk will be scheduled for spring quarter.
