Faculty members teaching Partnerships in Community Health connect students with community agencies to apply community health nursing principles to promote and maintain population self care. One of the instructors, Mo West, School of Nursing & Health Studies lecturer, was singled out in the Herald's article. West's work includes a partnership with the YWCA that's been in place since 2012. West was quoted as saying that these partnerships are vital because, "it’s crucial to immerse yourself in the community’s needs.
