Aimee Desrochers, Health Studies 2014, received the School of Nursing & Health Studies Outstanding Alumni award. Aimee has volunteered with the Peace Corps, earned an MS in Global Health, and now works at the US Agency for International Development.

Chemical & Engineering News interviews SNHS’ Dr. Lasker

We’re proud to announce that our senior lecturer and Director of Health Studies, Dr. Grace Lasker, was featured in an article by Chemical & Engineering News. Dr. Lasker co-created a symposium at the 22nd annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (GC&E). The symposium focused on how the chemicals used to create common products impact the environment and the connection between those consequences and environmental justice. After the conference, Dr. Lasker was interviewed by Chemical & Engineering News.

BSN alum named as Nurse Influencer

Stefan Torres, UW Bothell School of Nursing & Health Studies alumni, has been named as one of the 100 nurses recognized a Nurse Influencers by the UW Seattle School of Nursing. These nurses, whose connection to the UW go as far back as 1930, have made a commitment to improving lives in their communities.

Guatemala Summer Quarter 2018

Summer Quarter 2018 Global Health Promotion in Guatemala: Health Services Delivery in Resource Poor Settings. This service-learning course, conducted in partnership with a community based organization, Guatemala Village Health, is designed to expose students to policy contexts in which health care is delivered in resource-poor settings with particular emphasis on Guatemala.
