Health Studies Alum Receives Award

aimee desrochers outstanding alumni award

Aimee stood out among the nominees for her commitment to public service in the spirit of global citizenship and diplomacy. Upon graduating from the very first health studies cohort, Aimee took on a peace corps volunteer position working for nearly two years to build community health interventions including a novel maternal health program and numerous malaria prevention initiatives in a remote region of Togo West Africa. Immediately following her Peace Corps service, she attended and earned her MS in Global Health Politics from the University of Edinburgh. Aimee now is in a position at USAID, working on a portfolio of overseas development initiatives. Associate Professor Nora Kenworthy said “Aimee deserves recognition for the incredible progress she has made since graduating…she takes our commitments to social justice, equity and community-partnered work into everything she does, and you can see how that commitment has really molded her career and education choices.”
