Supply Chain Management Option
Why study Supply Chain Management?
The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Option provides students the ability to manage suppliers across globally distributed locations, to procure the right materials, at the right time, at the right quality, and at the lowest cost to meet company objectives. Graduates can go on to work as buyers, operations managers, forecasting analysts among many things.
The Supply Chain Management Option qualifies as a STEM-designated program categorized under “Management Science” (CIP Code 52.1301) on the Department of Homeland Security’s roster of STEM-designated degrees.
International students who engage in post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) can seek a 24-month extension of their initial OPT. This extension, known as a STEM OPT Extension, permits international students to prolong their employment with a qualifying employer for a combined total of 36 months of U.S. work experience.
Requirements to declare the option
Students must have completed the following courses with a minimum grade of 3.0 in each course in order to declare the SCM Option.
- Calculus
- Statistics
- BBUS 340 – Operations & Project Management
(*Note: Students in the process of completing a course will not be considered for the Supply Chain Management Option until the course has been completed. Talk with an advisor for more information).
