Mentees of the Year Award

The annual Mentorship EDGE Mentees of the Year Award celebrates the outstanding dedication and achievements of our students. This prestigious award aims to recognize and support Mentorship EDGE mentees in their academic and professional journey.

Award Details

Up to ten students will be honored as Mentorship EDGE Mentees of the Year and receive a $500 award. Awards will be distributed by the end of Spring Quarter each year. 

Application Deadline: May 13, 2026

Eligibility

Must be a currently enrolled student participating in the Mentorship EDGE program as a mentee.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must include the following with their application:

  • A maximum 500 word essay explaining their interest in the award, and how the Mentorship EDGE Program has impacted them, addressing our nomination pillars. Nomination Pillar details are outlined on our application.
    • Preparedness and Leadership
    • Follow-Through and Persistence
    • Excellence and Service
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation [Optional but encouraged]
  • An updated resume [Optional but encouraged]
    • Note : When preparing your application, we encourage you to submit your resume and request a letter of recommendation. This letter of recommendation can come from your mentor, a professor, or anyone who can speak to your success and journey as a student and mentee. One letter of recommendation is encouraged, but you are welcome to submit more than one. Please direct your letter writer(s) to submit their letter via our submission form.

Mentors of the Year Award

The annual Mentorship EDGE Mentors of the Year Award celebrates the outstanding dedication and achievements of our Mentors. This award aims to recognize and thank mentors for the pivotal role they play in guiding and shaping the next generation of leaders.

The Mentors of the Year will be presented with a special gift from the university, and will be celebrated alongside our Mentees of the Year at our annual spring Awards and Networking event!

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to express gratitude to their mentor’s commitment to their personal and professional growth.
