Health Studies Electives
One benefit of the Health Studies degree is the flexibility to develop an area of emphasis within your coursework. As part of the degree, you complete health-related electives approved by Health Studies faculty. These electives are organized into optional interest areas—Health & Life Sciences, Community Health Interventions & Practice, Health & Society, and Health Policy, Leadership, & Ethics—that can help you explore a particular area of health, build deeper knowledge through a focused selection of courses, and prepare for career opportunities in related fields. You are not required to choose an interest area; instead, you can select electives across areas or focus your coursework within an area that reflects your interests and goals. In either approach, your elective coursework provides opportunities to develop knowledge and skills that support your professional development.
