Our Approach
Curricular Focus: Our program is designed with a curriculum-based approach. This framework ensures that students have a structured opportunity to learn and develop within their residential community.
Student Positions
- Resident Advisor (RA): These student leaders play a crucial role in building community, providing support, and fostering a positive residential experience in Summit & Forest Hall.
- Apartment Advisor (AA): These student leaders play a crucial role supporting residents within the apartment-style housing units in the Horizon Hall.

Student Leader Position Breakdown
- Summit Hall Resident Advisor
Role Term: Academic Year
Role Dates: September 2026-June 2027
Role Length: 10 months
Student Leader Team: 10 RAs
Hall Room Type: Bedroom with Private Bathroom
Community Type: First-Year Experience
RA Room Type: Single Bedroom with Private Bathroom
- Forest Hall Resident Advisor
Role Term: Academic Year
Role Dates: September 2026-June 2027
Role Length: 10 months
Student Leader Team: 10 RAs
Hall Room Type: Multi-bedroom suites with shared sitting room bathroom
Community Type: Second year & above housing
RA Room Type: Single bedroom in a shared unit
- Horizon Hall Apartment Advisor
Role Term: 12-Month
Role Dates: September 2026-August 2027
Role Length: 12-Month
Student Leader Team: 6 AAs
Hall Room Type: Multi-bedroom apartments with shared bathroom
Community Type: Returning student & Grad housing
AA Room Type: Single bedroom in a shared apartment

Student Leader Information Sessions
Join us at our informational sessions to gain deeper insights into the roles and how to be a successful applicant. All Information Sessions take place in the Residential Village. To help you become a successful candidate, you are strongly encouraged to attend one of the following information sessions below to learn more about our positions. If you cannot attend any of the information sessions listed below, please contact Residential Life at uwbreslife@uw.edu for more information.
Information Sessions Date and Times
- Tuesday, December 2nd from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
- Wednesday, December 3rd from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
- Tuesday, January 6 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
- Wednesday, January 7 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm
All Information Sessions will take place in Forest Hall in the Residential Village.
