Ben Gardner and Ron Krabill Receive UW Global Innovation Fund Grant
IAS faculty members Ben Gardner and Ron Krabill received a UW Global Innovation Fund grant to support their upcoming study abroad exploration seminar “Critical perspectives on ecotourism in Tanzania.” The grant will enable Tanzanian students to participate alongside UW students in studying grassroots environmental activism and community conservation in Tanzania.

Martha Groom Becomes Co-PI on the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program
IAS faculty member Martha Groom is now a Co-PI on the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program. She and collaborators from across the University of Washington successfully submitted a new proposal this year for an extension of funding, receiving an additional $1.9 million on top of the initial $1.6 million from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. The program began in 2014 and now is funded through 2019.

Bruce Burgett speaks about interdisciplinary education at Fordham University
IAS Dean and faculty member Bruce Burgett spoke twice at Fordham University. The first discussion was focused on the development of undergraduate interdisciplinary curricula. The second, sponsored by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, focused on interdisciplinary and engaged curriculum at the Master’s level.

Ron Krabill and David Goldstein receive grant to support Collaborative, Online, International Learning
