Min Tang presents at the 2026 Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) Conference

IAS faculty Dr. Min Tang presented at the 2026 annual conference of Society for Social Studies of Science (4S). In her presentation titled “Who controls the AI unicorns? Unravel the capital supply chain in the emerging AI industry”, Dr. Tang shared her research on the issues of financialization and geopolitics in the emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technology. By looking at the capital supply chain and the investment patterns in this critical strategic industry, Tang’s study unpacked the complicated network and interconnectedness among companies in this industry and called for the often overlooked yet important political economy perspective in understanding AI.
