Dr. Georgia Roberts, 2026 Distinguished Teaching Award
Dr. Roberts‘ colleagues and students nominated her with the highest praise for this award, including her transformative, inclusive learning environments that connect interdisciplinary scholarship, critical inquiry and reflective practice to students’ lived experiences. As a recognized expert in American Studies with a focus on literature and popular music, Roberts has shaped UW Bothell through exceptional mentorship and campus-wide impact, modeling inclusive and anti-racist pedagogy for colleagues and students alike.
Created in 1995, the Distinguished Teaching Award is presented each year to a UW Bothell faculty member in recognition of teaching that richly exemplifies the high standards at the heart of the academic mission of the University of Washington Bothell. The recipient receives an honorarium and is recognized at the Awards of Excellence ceremony on the Seattle campus in June.
