IAS hosts “Mentor Chat” with Deborah Oaks

IAS hosted its first “Mentor Chat” in January with alum Deborah Oaks (’08, Science, Technology and the Environment). Mentor Chats assist students with career exploration and networking by providing opportunities to dialogue with IAS alum and community partners working across diverse roles and sectors. At this mentor chat, a small group of students learned how Oaks has navigated her career and how interdisciplinarity informs her work. Oaks has dedicated much of her career to restoring rivers, serving five years with Stewardship Partners and actively volunteering with Sno-Valley Tilth. She currently works as the Habitat Program Coordinator for Sound Salmon Solutions.
