Masahiro Sugano and Anida Yoeu Ali awarded Interlude Artist Residency

This summer, IAS faculty Masahiro Sugano and Anida Yoeu Ali were recipients of a month-long residency at Interlude Artist Residency in Hudson, N.Y., a highly competitive program uniquely designed to support artist couples and their families.

During the residency, Sugano worked on a new series of surrealist paintings, while Ali developed the early conceptual framework for a new performance persona. Joined by their three children, who each undertook their own creative projects, the family experienced a rare opportunity to grow together as artists. The residency culminated in studio visits and conversations with New York City-based and regional curators, artists, and cultural leaders.
