Curtis Takahashi joins UW Bothell to lead new Professional Experience Program

An ardent champion of UW Bothell, alum Curtis Takahashi is taking his support to a new level. The IAS graduate was recently hired as the campus’s new Professional Experience Program Advisor. This program will create opportunities for UW Bothell students to gain intensive and immersive work experience during their final years of study, along with professional development to be successful in the workplace. Takahashi will focus on employer outreach and engagement, advising students on internship opportunities and professional development, and managing the program implementation, growth, and assessment.

Takahashi brings an in-depth knowledge and understanding of workforce development systems. He is a community builder with demonstrated success developing and sustaining valued relationships with business, labor, education and community organizations. He is the former manager of business strategy for Workforce Snohomish and most recently worked with businesses in Seattle to create internship opportunities for youth.

Takahashi earned a bachelor’s degree in Culture, Literature & the Arts in 2004 and completed a postgraduate certificate in Nonprofit Management from UW.  He’s been actively involved in the University of Washington Alumni Council since 2010 and currently serves as the Awards & Recognition Chair.

When not at work you can find Takahashi performing live sound effects with Seattle Radio Theatre and Imagination Theatre. He also avidly supports the Sounders from Section 339 of Century Link Field.

“I’m very excited to be working here on campus. More importantly, I’m excited about building opportunities for our students to start their careers and make an impact in the world.”
