Who is my advisor?
Pre-Major students are assigned an advisor based on academic areas of interest. Check Navigate to see who your Pre-Major Advisor is. Once admitted to a major, students will meet with their major advisor.
Schedule an Appointment
Need fast advising support?
During peak registration times (first week of the quarter and Registration Period 1) the Pre-Major Advisors become very busy and Pre-Major students may have to wait two weeks or longer to get an advising appointment. Drop-in advising can help you see an Advisor right away!
Drop-In Advising
Pre-Major students can view drop-in advising times through Navigate. Login with your UW NetID and follow the steps to schedule an appointment, when you get to the screen shown below, look for the gold bar, then click “View Drop-in Times.”

If your advisor is available when you login, click the button to Drop-in Online. If your advisor is not available, you will see your advisor’s drop-in schedule so you can visit again later.

Drop-in advising appointments are generally 10 minutes or less. Students will be placed in a virtual waiting room until their individual meeting officially begins. Students will meet their advisor in the order in which they joined the waiting room. If you leave the waiting room, you will lose your place in the drop-in advising line!
