Genetic Counseling Virtual Career Fair

Genetic Counseling is a unique and rewarding healthcare profession, and this virtual fair will help you learn all about it! The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) invites you to attend the 2022 Virtual Medical School Fair on Wednesday, October 12th (8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Pacific Time) and Thursday, October 13 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time).

Virtual Q&A sessions for MD-PhD Programs

The GREAT Outreach Committee will host Virtual Q&A sessions focused on biomedical graduate and MD-PhD programs on Oct. 13, 1 p.m. (Times listed are Pacific; the Zoom link will list Eastern.). 

Students will be able to connect with program directors at institutions from across the country to learn more about biomedical graduate and MD-PhD programs and careers. This is an opportunity for students to practice their networking skills before Fall conferences. Attendees can bring questions and concerns to these interactive sessions. 

We'll be covering these topics for discussion: 

  • Writing strong personal statements
  • Obtaining great letters of recommendation Letters
  • What makes a school/program the best fit for YOU? 
  • What is best for you – a direct path to graduate school or a gap year? Direct to grad school or gap years?
  • Tips for acing your interview skills
  • MD-PhD programs

On Monday, October 24 at 9:00am, the Washington State University Elson Floyd College of Medicine will be offering an information session at the UW Bothell campus in UW1-103. Recruiters and advisors will present information on the Medicine (MD) program, the Nutrition and Exercise Physiology Program, the Speech and Hearing Sciences program and the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs.

2022 ATEachMoment Fall Virtual Fair

The ATEachMoment Virtual Fair provides an opportunity for high school and college students to explore a career in athletic training and to connect with representatives from AT education programs around the country, all in one day. Programming includes live sessions for students to learn about athletic training as a career, engage with current AT students, get questions answered about the application process, and discover the school that's the right fit.

Over 25 institutions that sponsor athletic training programs are already registered to host booths at the event, making it easy for prospective students to meet with program personnel and get their questions answered.

UPREP

UPREP is a collaborative project between the CEDI student affinity groups. UPREP offers monthly workshops to underrepresented minority students and other aspiring future applicants who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. We offer workshops focusing on topics ranging from AMCAS application, financial aid, writing a personal statement, MCAT prep, interviews, and others. Join the UPREP listserv so that you can stay updated on upcoming workshops, recordings, and resources, sign up here.
