‘The epitome of perseverance and dedication’ 

Niveah Martinez, recipient of the 2025 Chancellor’s Medal at the University of Washington Bothell, is recognized for her perseverance, leadership, and inspiring journey as a first-generation student in Computer Science & Software Engineering (CSSE).

At UW Bothell, Martinez was deeply involved in programs supporting underrepresented students, including the Latino Leadership Initiative, where she grew the program’s membership from 9 to 31. Visit the Connected Learning site to learn more about cohorts and community-based learning.
