Every April, Global Volunteer Month celebrates the power of service and community engagement. In UW Bothell, this is embodied through the Office of Connected Learning (OCL) and its Community-Engaged Learning and Research (CELR) program.

CELR students Sabrina Oliveira and Hazel Kaushik each found meaningful ways to connect learning with community impact. Sabrina Oliveira, CELR Program Assistant, shares her experience through Latino Leadership Initiatives where she mentored high school students, helped her discover her passion in public service.Hazel Kaushik, CELR Marketing Assistant, found deep connection to her personal and cultural meaning though the Southeast Asian Past & Futures Cohort Program.
