Student academic attire
All UW Bothell Commencement participants must be attired in the appropriate academic apparel as outlined below.
All apparel is provided by Oak Hall Cap & Gown and must be ordered via the registration/order form (available on this website on April 27). You will also be able to order other items as desired (souvenir tassels, extra degree tassels, mortarboards, hoods, and stoles). If you need financial assistance in purchasing academic apparel, you can request for emergency aid. All orders must be picked up at Grad Fair.
Please plan your order carefully! Once your form is submitted, it’s final. Any changes must be made in person at Grad Fair.

Bachelor’s apparel
Package includes: Black gown w/ seal, mortarboard and degree-colored tassel. $61.00, plus tax.
Master’s apparel
Package includes: Black master’s gown, mortarboard, black tassel and degree-colored hood. $86.00, plus tax.

Tassel and hood colors
In observance of tradition, all participants in Commencement will wear full academic regalia consisting of a traditional gown and mortarboard with tassel.
All master’s degree candidates will wear black tassels.
Bachelor’s degree candidates will wear tassels varying in color to denote their degree.

Honor cords
Eligible students will receive their honor cords during the Student Recogniton event on May 20 at the ARC (Activities and Recreation Center). If you are unable to attend, you may purchase the honor cord after the event. Details will be emailed to those students who are eligible. If you have a question about your eligibility, please contact the Office of the Registrar.
Honor cord: $13.00, plus tax.
Apparel pick-up at Grad Fair
This year, students will have the option to have their regalia items shipped directly to them. If shipping is not selected, students can pick up their Commencement apparel at Grad Fair. Grad Fair is from May 18–19 at the North Creek Event Center, which is located on the east side of the UW Bothell campus.
Grad Fair will open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on May 18. It will be open 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on May 19.
If you can’t make Grad Fair, you may ask someone else to pick up for you; however, they must have your confirmation order and student ID number in order to pick up your apparel and order.
Refunds and changes
Refunds for graduation items will be granted on or before the end of the registration period by completing the refund form linked below. Once your form has been submitted, you will not be able to make changes online. Any changes required to your order (e.g., extra tassel) may be requested at Grad Fair when picking up your order.
