Meet our team

Eva Navarijo, SSS Director
The Director oversees the Student Support Services program and helps shape the overall experience for students in SSS. They work behind the scenes to make sure the program runs smoothly, meets federal guidelines, and offers meaningful opportunities for student success and connection. Contact the Director with questions about eligibility, partnerships, or to request more information about the SSS program overall.
Eva Navarijo is a leader at the University of Washington Bothell who works closely with students, faculty, and staff to create programs that make college more accessible, supportive, and engaging. Her work focuses on helping students connect classroom learning with real-world experiences through advising, cohort-based programs, research opportunities, study abroad, and career development.
Eva partners with faculty across disciplines to expand experiential learning opportunities and ensure that programs reflect students’ lived experiences and academic goals. She is especially committed to building structures that work for first-generation students and others who may not always see themselves represented in higher education spaces.
Alongside her student-facing work, Eva leads communications and outreach efforts for the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences. She believes that clear, inclusive communication is essential for helping students navigate opportunities and feel a sense of belonging on campus.
Eva’s passion for student success is rooted in her own journey. As a first-generation college student, she participated in TRIO Student Support Services and the McNair Scholars Program while earning an Honors BA in English from Washington State University. She later completed a Master’s degree in American Studies at Saint Louis University.

Miriam Bandala, SSS Advisor
The Advisor works directly with students and is the main point of contact once you join SSS. They meet one-on-one with students to talk through academic planning, campus resources, goals, and next steps. Contact the Advisor with questions about appointments, support services, workshops, program participation, or for help navigating college life at UW Bothell.
Miriam Bandala began her academic journey at Shoreline Community College in 2020, where she earned an Associate’s degree in Business. She continued her studies at the University of Washington Bothell, graduating with honors in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Policy Studies. Today, Miriam draws on her own lived experiences to support students as they navigate higher education and beyond.
While at UW Bothell, Miriam held key leadership roles within the Office of Admissions, including Campus Visit Coordinator and Lead Student Ambassador. She maximized the opportunities within the UW system by studying abroad through UW Tacoma and participating in cross-campus enrollment at UW Seattle. These experiences provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the resources available across all three campuses—a perspective she now uses to help students connect with the tools they need to thrive.
Following graduation, Miriam served as an Admissions Counselor at UW Bothell, supporting first-year and transfer students, particularly those in Business and STEM majors. Now, as a TRIO Student Support Services Advisor, she combines her professional expertise and personal background to empower students to reach their academic and career goals.
