Dr. Porselvi (Selvi) Linganathan is a chemistry instructor at the University of Washington Bothell with teaching experience in both India and the United States. She teaches CHEM 144, CHEM 154 and CHEM 164 laboratory courses, with a strong focus on hands-on learning that builds foundational skills in chemistry and supports student success in the laboratory. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Thiruvalluvar University, India, in materials chemistry with emphasis on organic and polymer-based electronic materials. Her academic expertise spans general chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and analytical chemistry. She is committed to fostering engaging, accessible and inclusive learning environments that encourage scientific curiosity and academic excellence among students from diverse backgrounds.
