Associate Teaching Professor
Nicole Hoover received their B.A. in Mathematics from San Jose State University and later earned their M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California Davis. They served in several instructional capacities at UC Davis, Cosumnes River College, and the University of New Orleans before joining UW Bothell in 2006. They became the director of the Quantitative Skills Center from 2006 to 2009. Returning to UW Bothell in 2012 as a part-time instructor, they were appointed as a full-time instructor in 2015; in those roles, they have taught a wide variety of courses ranging from pre-calculus to junior level matrix algebra.

Teaching Interests
Professor Hoover’s primary goals in teaching are to help students work through math anxiety, build confidence in learning quantitative concepts and increase a sense of belonging in math classes.
Research and Scholarship Interests
Professor Hoover spent their sabbatical creating free online homework materials for the Calculus I and II courses and has created or co-created workbooks for every class they have taught at UW Bothell.
