Associate Teaching Professor

Dr. Laurie Anderson has been teaching at UW Bothell since 2002 as a part-time instructor and later was hired full time as senior lecturer in 2013, and now as an associate teaching professor.

Technical writing, computer ethics, practical (real-world) application of computer science education

Research and Scholarship Interests

Dr. Anderson’s scholarship interest examines student motivation to succeed in college. She has examined alternative grading strategies. She uses career exploration as a way to motivate students’ interest in developing agency over their learning process. Anderson is currently exploring teaching strategies to improve student attention and motivation while reducing instructor grading workload along with researching practices for inclusive teaching.
