Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean for Student Success
Dr. Cinnamon Hillyard is the associate vice chancellor and dean for Student Success at the University of Washington Bothell where she oversees Undergraduate Academic Advising, the First Year and Premajor Program (FYPP), the Learning Commons (LC), and the cohort programs of STARS and TRIO SSS. She also leads campus wide support for curriculum oversight, assessment of campus learning goals, and graduate studies. Her research focuses on how people use quantitative information to make decisions and how undergraduate education can foster the development of quantitative literacy, and she has taught mathematics and statistics at several institutions. She is a Carnegie National Faculty member where she has led multiple initiatives around the Carnegie Pathways program including developing programs to support learning mindsets, belonging, and motivation. Associate Vice Chancellor Hillyard served on EAB’s Student Success Innovation Council and participates in AASCUs's Community of Student Success Practitioners forum to collaborate with other student success leaders nationwide. She was the first in her family to get a college degree and is passionate about helping students find their paths through college, especially those interested in science and mathematics.
