Teaching Interests

My primary goal as an educator is to democratize the tools of social science, making them accessible to all students. I believe that the ability to interrogate social structures and interpret human behavior is a requisite for modern citizenship and social justice. Therefore, my pedagogy moves beyond the rote memorization of concepts; I challenge students to mobilize social science frameworks to interrogate complex, real-world problems.

I view the classroom as a collaborative workspace for discovery. My objective is to transition students from passive observers of society to active agents of inquiry and change. I aim to arm the next generation of social scientists with a versatile methodological toolkit capable of addressing contemporary social and political challenges.

Research and Scholarship Interests

My research examines how economic structures, racial hierarchies, political institutions, and social systems shape psychological well-being, health, and collective capacity. I investigate how instability, inequality, and racialized systems of power undermine psychological security, and how individuals and communities mobilize resilience, social capital, and collective action to resist oppressive systems.
