Dr. Brian Martensen is currently serving as the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Washington Bothell. Additionally, he holds an appointment as professor of Mathematics. As a faculty member, his research has been in the general area of topological dynamics, focusing on aperiodic tiling spaces, classification of hyperbolic attractors, and mixing properties such systems. His teaching has focused on differential equations, modeling of real-world phenomena, and analysis. In tandem with his administrative work, he also uses techniques in data science to study student outcomes and financial models in higher education.
