Dr. Alexander Barchechat focuses on the philosophy of education and non-western moral philosophy. He is primarily interested in teaching methods that respect and value students' agency as well as their deontic and epistemic authority. Barchechat's teaching philosophy revolves around developing students' autonomy, in and out of academia. He gives particular attention to choice and responsibility as they are the foundations of autonomy.
