Making meaningful opportunities for students 

Dana Washington, community-engaged learning program manager in UW Bothell’s Office of Connected Learning, has received the 2025-26 Distinguished Accomplishments Award for her work strengthening community partnerships and expanding hands-on learning opportunities for students.

Washington supports more than 100 community partners and works with faculty across all five schools and first-year programs to connect classroom learning with real-world challenges. Her contributions include helping shape disability justice coursework and campus exhibitions, facilitating the Latino Leadership Initiative, supporting student service projects and helping pilot Community Connect UW, a tri-campus platform that connects community partners with UW students, faculty and staff.

Through her creativity, collaboration and commitment to community-engaged learning, Washington has helped build stronger connections between UW Bothell, students and the communities they serve.
