Seoul to Busan, the incredible South Korea I’ve been, so far by Hoksila Archambault

Exploring South Korea gave one UW Bothell student a firsthand look at a country where cultural traditions and technological innovation exist side by side. Throughout the program, he experienced the vibrant cities of Seoul and Busan while discovering the resilience and adaptability that come with studying abroad.

From visiting historic sites and museums to taking in mountain views overlooking modern city skylines, each destination offered a deeper appreciation for South Korea’s culture, architecture and history. Although adjusting to the summer heat and spending time away from home presented challenges, the kindness of local residents and the experiences shared throughout the journey made the program especially meaningful.

Returning home, he found himself inspired to continue exploring the world and learning from different cultures. His story reflects how Global Initiatives encourages UW Bothell students to embrace new experiences that broaden their perspectives and inspire future adventures.
