UW Bothell staff members have important roles in assisting students through the graduation process and ensuring the success of our commencement exercises. The ceremony cannot run smoothly without the invaluable contributions of time and energy by you and many other UW Bothell staff. Your work to make this the "Best Day Ever" for students is much appreciated.

I’m a staff member at UW Bothell and would like to help on Commencement day. How do I sign up?

Is there a training?
All Commencement Crew are invited to attend a training session on Thursday, June 8. More details will be sent specific to the duty you are assigned.
When do I arrive?
Each job duty has a specific time. Please be sure to allow plenty of time for travel, traffic, finding a parking spot and walking to Safeco Field. Your timeliness is essential to the success of the day.
Where should I park?
Parking is available at the Safeco Parking Garage on Edgar Martinez Way. Staff will be reimbursed for parking and travel expenses. The Commencement Office will provide you with a budget number for reimbursement.
Where do I go on Commencement Day?
When you arrive on Commencement day, you are asked to enter Safeco Field through the Media Entry (directly across from Safeco Parking Garage on Edgar Martinez Way). Here you will check in and be provided with a name badge, walkie-talkie if necessary and other information.
Is lunch provided?
Yes, the staff hospitality room with lunch will be located at the Interview Room at Safeco Field.
When will I work?
Shifts may range from 8am – 8pm. Almost all staff will work a morning, afternoon, or evening shift. Some shifts overlap.
How long is the ceremony?
There ceremony is expected to be 3 hours long.
What do I wear?
You represent UW Bothell, so please dress appropriately. You will be provided a polo shirt to wear at the ceremony. We request that all Commencement staff wear black pants or skirt – if you are assigned a walkie talkie keep in mind you will be more comfortable with a belt loop. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Please no jeans or shorts. All staff will be provided a name badge.
