Campus map and accessible routes
The campus map outlines the access routes from site arrival points (parking lots and transit stop) to accessible building entrances. These routes are noted on signage throughout campus. Due to the slope of campus there are section of access routes that use elevators within buildings to navigate the hills.
The following describes these interior sections of access routes. Please review the campus map for all access route information:
To Promenade from Campus Way NE
Two access routes to the Promenade from ADA parking on Campus Way NE
- Enter Founder’s Hall (UW1) accessible entrances located in the east or Campus Way NE side of the building, take elevator up to first floor and exit to Promenade on the west side of the building.
- Enter the LB2 external elevator by Campus Safety, take elevator up to first floor and exit to Promenade.
To Promenade from Discovery Hall (DISC) parking
Enter the west Discovery Hall entrance and take elevator to lower level, exit out the east Discovery Hall entrance to the Crescent Path, turn right (south) to connect the Promenade near Commons Hall (UW2) or turn left (north) to connect to the Promenade near Cascadia College.
To North Creek Events Center (NCEC) and the Activity Recreation Center (ARC) from the Promenade
From LB2 on the Promenade, head east on the skybridge over Campus Way NE. The NCEC will be on your left (north) and the ARC will be on your right (south). Use the ARC elevator to negotiate the three floors of the building.
To Innovation Hall from the West Parking Garage
From the south exit of the garage, cross 110th Ave NE at the crosswalk, turn right on the
sidewalk then left through the Discovery Hall parking lot and left again on West Campus Way to
head north to the west Innovation Hall level three entrance. Innovation Hall elevators may also
be used to access the Promenade at the lower level east entrance.
Report a physical barrier to access
If you or someone you know encounters a physical barrier that is preventing equal access to a University building or area, please report it to us. Physical barriers are conditions in any structural environment that prevent or impede an individual with a disability from efficiently navigating the setting.
Barriers to access can include:
- non-functioning door openers
- non-functioning elevators
- damaged curb cuts
- issues with accessible restrooms
- weather related issues such as snow blocked paths
To report physical barriers on any UW Campus (Seattle, Bothell or Tacoma), complete the form using the link above or contact Customer Care. Once reported, the UW Facilities Customer Care Team will contact appropriate University resources from the specific campus to inform them of the report. This will initiate the process and our trained professionals will address your individual needs based on each set of circumstances.
