Your health, well-being and safety matter.
College is a time of growth, connection, and new experiences. Prevention, Health & Wellness (PHW) provides free services, education, and confidential advocacy to help you care for your wellbeing and make the most of your time on campus. Whether you’re looking for information, support, or ways to get involved, we’re here for you.
What We Do
Confidential Advocacy: a safe place to start
Our confidential advocates support students impacted by domestic or relationship violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, and related concerns. We provide a safe space to explore options, access resources, and receive support.
Peer Education: from a student perspective
The Health Educators Reaching Out (HEROs) are a team of student leaders who promote wellbeing through events, outreach, and education. HEROs engage students in conversations about mental health, healthy relationships, sexual health, and basic needs. Find their latest events on UW Gather!
Prevention & Education: learn life skills
We offer workshops, trainings, events, and educational programs that help students build skills, increase awareness, and contribute to a healthier, safer campus community. We cover the topics of healthy relationships, bystander intervention, consent, dynamics of relationship violence and sexual assault and how to support a survivor.
The Health & Wellness Resource Center: connect to resources
The Health & Wellness Resource Center (HaWRC) connects students with on-campus and community resources. Stop by the HaWRC in ARC 120 or email hawrc@uw.edu to find resources.
Free Wellness Supplies: stay safer
Students have access to free safer sex supplies and harm reduction resources throughout campus. The supplies are located in:
- The Health & Wellness Resource Center (ARC 120)
- The wellness vending machine on the first floor of the Library
- Wellness stations located across campus
