Benefits & New Staff Orientations

Orientation Update: Due to COVID 19, Welcome Day is being offered as a online self-paced course with videos and interactive components. Please visit the Welcome Day page to register. Online Benefits Orientation is also available on the UWHR Benefits website. We recommend all new employees to review the videos in order to make the appropriate benefit selections for themselves.

Benefits orientation

UW Seattle hosts the orientation, which is held every other Monday by the Benefits Consultants for all UW employees. OE/HR recommends all new employees to attend this event in order to make the appropriate benefits selections for themselves.

The Benefits Orientation will be offered at the UW Tower every Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the Union orientation from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

New staff orientation

New Staff Orientation regarding the Bothell Campus is usually the 4th Wednesday of the month. The Organizational Excellence & Human Resources team will send the new employee a calendar invite on thier first or second day with UW Bothell.

Orientation is required for all new staff and includes policies and procedures that are specific to the Bothell campus, key UW policies, and a brief Benefits Orientation (different from the orientation mentioned above). Presenters include various UW Bothell departments such as Information Technologies, Security & Public Safety, and the Library.

New staff will obtain information about how to have a safe working environment, what to do in case of an emergency, and their responsibilities as a state employee. New staff will also learn about UW Bothell culture, professional development opportunities, and amenities available to them.

Visit the OEHR SharePoint site Welcome page for more information about starting your new position with UW Bothell.
