Teaching Interests
In my courses, I aim to help students appreciate complexity, and to connect course skills with contexts that matter to them. In working with first-year students, my goal is to build their confidence and strengthen key skills – such as critical reading, writing across genres, information literacy, and reflecting on their own learning – that they can use both within and outside of college. My course themes include “border crossings,” “community and identity,” “writing about media and culture,” and other topics that let students connect the material to their own interests and expertise.
